THEY SAY EVERYONE IS A PHOTOGRAPHER NOW-A-DAYS…

Until they shoot a real wedding that is!

I love fun, relaxed couples and guests that enjoy the day without stressing over every tiny detail. This was L & A on their wedding day on 24th January 2026. My first wedding of the year.

The day was so much fun and the weather good too. The days either side of the wedding rained, a lot but on the wedding day the sun was out for us. It was cold but for January you expect that and dress for it so no surprises there. I started with the getting ready photos which is always a great way for everyone involved to get to know each other - me included. Then it was onto a funny and emotional ceremony and later in the day, after dinner we had one of the funniest best man’s speeches i’ve heard over the last 20 years of shooting weddings. Lots of laugh out loud moments.

My wedding coverage normally starts with getting ready photos of the bride and the groom if they are both at the same venue and it’s a good time to start so that you can capture all the moments of fun and also the nerves before the big day starts. I normally turn up a couple of hours before the ceremony and meet up with the bride then pop along to the groom until he’s ready to greet his guests. Then it’s back to the bride before the ceremony begins. I love this time of the wedding, getting those natural moments in a relaxed fly on the wall style.

Covering the first dance and the party afterwards is a fun time to be working at a wedding as there is lots of energy in the room and when the groom is in a band and they do a set it makes it very special - This is where I like to show lots of movement in the images which I feel give the photos energy and meaning.
