Family Photographer
A family photoshoot is a great way to keep those memories alive
When your kids are growing up fast it’s easy to miss the little changes that happen to them. Remembering the fun and mundane stuff we do with them; trips to the woods, having lunch together, walking the dog or just having a quiet moment in the garden.
Family photo-shoots can be memorable at the time but fast forward 5 or 10 years having some beautiful photos allows you to really see the changes that happen in front of your nose without actually noticing it. We are all busy parents; taking them to school, driving to clubs, birthday parties and generally caring for them every day but do we ever stop and look back at those everyday moments? A family shoot doesn’t have to be a big event at the time, just a walk in the woods or playing on the swings in the park.
It’s the everyday stuff that we forget.
When I look back at my old photos the things I see now would have looked normal or boring at the time; dads old car, the dated kitchen cabinets, mums 80’s perm, your first pet and the fact that I had a great head of hair! How times have changed….
These photo shoots are lovely at the time and should be printed out and hung on the wall BUT in 5, 10, 15 years time they will become a magical memory of times forgotten. A proper look back at when mum & dad looked young and when you could be on their shoulders tickling dads ear or small enough to hide between their legs.
These photographs become more valuable every year and having a photographer (me) to capture some of these moments once a year can build up a beautiful selection of photos that your kids will look back on, laugh about and remember the times with fondness that we spent doing normal stuff with you; mum & dad.
One of me as a teenager.
Looking at this old photo of me and my best mate Ginge brings back lots of great memories.
The trips we went on
Our old canoe
My best mate Ginge from school (yes we argued all the time over anything) and are still great friends today and yes he is still a foot taller than I am.
One of my all time favourite pairs of nike trainers
My old dog Suki
My dad in the background looking younger
The family car that my dad loved; A Cortina, 2lt Crusader (which I drove and crashed years later after passing my test at 17.
My old street
Just one old photo taken in the late 80’s that has so many more memories within it I could write a book about it!
