Commercial Event Photography in London – Expect the Unexpected
Commercial event photography is a huge part of my business—and one of the things I love most about it is the element of surprise. No two events are ever the same. I often arrive not knowing exactly what the day will bring, which clients I’ll meet, or what kind of space I’ll be working in. That unpredictability keeps it exciting—and keeps me sharp.
This recent shoot was a perfect example. I had no idea I'd be photographing an event in one of the most breathtaking locations in central London. From the moment I stepped out onto the rooftop at Wagtail Bar & Restaurant, with its 360-degree views of the city, I knew this wasn’t going to be your typical corporate gathering. It was one of those jobs that reminds me why I do what I do.

Stepping off the train at London Bridge station, I knew I was in for something special. Just a short walk across London Bridge and through a discreet entrance, I arrived at Wagtail Rooftop Bar & Restaurant—an exclusive venue that offers one of the most jaw-dropping views in the city.
A quick lift ride to the 8th floor, followed by a single flight of stairs, brought me out onto the rooftop—and straight into a 360-degree panorama of London’s most iconic landmarks. Directly in front: the majestic dome of St. Paul’s Cathedral. To the left: the soaring glass spire of The Shard. To the right: The Gherkin, nestled among the towers of the City. And behind me, the unmistakable view of Tower Bridge.
As someone who’s lived in Bexley all my life, London has always held a special place in my heart. I’ve spent years exploring its streets, photographing its energy, and admiring its architecture. But I don’t think I’ve ever experienced a venue that immerses you so completely in the capital’s skyline.
That’s what made photographing this corporate event so rewarding. The setting elevated everything—from branding moments and guest networking, to candid interactions and high-end hospitality. The combination of dynamic lighting, urban views, and elegant design made for a dream backdrop that truly captured the tone of the event.
